Who we are and What we are doing:

Never Forget The Blood, Inc is helping our international partner, the Joyful Life Foundation, begin to self-sustain by giving them the catalyst of starting an agricultural business where the members and volunteers of JFL can grow and harvest their own crops, sell them in their own community, and use the profits to fund their many disaster relief and humanitarian aid projects throughout the impoverished regions of Pakistan.

I (Barry) began working with Adnan (the President of JLF) more than 10 years ago and over that time we have become good friends and I have found Adnan's heart to be keen toward helping the poor and marginalized of society. When I visited Adnan in 2019, and saw the daily life of his neighbors with my own eyes, I knew something had to be done to bring a lasting change and better their circumstances. But we realize "shaking a cup" can only be effective for a short time. Therefore we have worked together to develop this plan for Joyful Life Foundation to raise their own funds through commerce, beginning with this farm.

I know for certain Adnan has the leadership skills to make this vision become reality if we can receive your financial investment. I know this because of his track record with us and his recognition of integrity by governmental leaders in his community.

Adnan knows the land and how to tend it well. And will thus be overseeing the project on the ground. Previous to being the chairman of a renowned charitable NGO, Adnan grew up as a bonded laborer with his family working on a farm to pay off their generational debt. Around 2013, Adnan's family was able to get free from the slavery of debt and he began seeking ways to help others in his community become free and stay free, and it has been a joy to work with him and his organization to accomplish some truly amazing things, such as freeing other families from bonded labor and helping them start their own businesses.

Why this is a worthy investment:

In addition to freeing the slaves of Peshgi, providing legal aid to victims of religious persecution, and caring for widows & flood-affected families, the Joyful Life Foundation also operates a charity school - the Joyful Educational Institute - which provides free education to elementary-aged children from the rural villages of the Punjab region.

Many of these students are the children of brick kiln laborers, street sweepers, and sewer cleaners (among the most impoverished caste of untouchables in Pakistan). If it weren't for this school, these children would be at risk of drug addiction and sex-trafficking as their unschooled peers. Over the last decade that NFTB has worked together with JLF, we have observed that obtaining funds from mere donations can be a daunting task for organizations like the Joyful Life Foundation. That is why we at NFTB are stepping in and inviting you to step up. We are not seeking to offer a handout, but rather a hand-up.

With your help in this catalyst initiative, the Joyful Life Foundation will be able to generate funding from within their own community, which will also have a manifold effect on the world around them. This agricultural business will not only positively impact the local economy, but will also offer ethical means of employment to workers in the future. Here is how the Joyful Life Foundation has contractually affirmed to use of the funds we are raising:

How Funds will be used:

These funds granted from Never Forget The Blood, Inc to Joyful Life Foundation will operate this agriculture business for the first year. The proceeds from the first year's harvest will be split in half to support the humanitarian work of JLF, and the other half to invest in operating the business for the following year. If we can fulfill this fundraiser goal by March 21st, 2023, then we will be able to start the first crop right away in April.

Here is how the catalyst funds will be spent:

  • 6 acres of farmland (one-year lease) - $3,000

  • Purchase Tractor & Equipment - $6,000

  • Diesel Fuel for one year - $1,000

  • Purchase initial seeds - $1,000

  • Legal Fees - $500

  • Reserved for Incidentals (inflation, contingencies, repairs, etc) - $8,000

Volunteers from JLF will serve as workers for the first year. NFTB will send delegates to verify the proper use of all funds and the success of the initiative. JLF will provide receipts and ledgers of all expenditures. Funds for Incidentals will be kept safe in possession of NFTB accounts until deemed necessary for this project. In the event these Incidentals are not utilized, they will be used for similar relief work.

Three rounds of crops can be raised on these 6 acres throughout the year; sugar cane, corn, and wheat. These are the highest-demand crops in the region.

Researchers have determined a projected return of $20,000 USD (equivalent) raised from the sale of crops from this initial investment. From this $20,000 return, the first half ($10,000) will be allotted to funding the educational programs of the Joyful Educational Institute, and disaster relief for the victims of the annual floods in the region. The other half (projected $10,000) will be invested back into the business to increase the amount of land used, purchase more seed as needed (some seed will be saved from the harvests), and save towards buying a second tractor.

It is the vision for this project that through this catalyst, the Joyful Life Foundation will develop its own system of self-sustaining economic growth, and grow its educational programs to include teaching better methods of environmentally friendly agricultural practices, and spreading the joy of giving life to others through their increase of charitable works among the world's most impoverished peoples.
